5 Household Items That Need to Be Cleaned Daily

5-household-items

You may have items around the house that need to be cleaned on a daily basis. While most of these may seem insignificant, you still need all the attention they can get if you really want to live in a home that’s clean from the inside and out.

What are these items and how do you get around to cleaning them every day? Check out the list below:

Coffee pot

Nothing beats a nice hot cup of coffee in the morning. However, it may suffer from staining or emit a bad odor over time.

With that being said, you should be able to clean your coffee pot regularly if you want nothing but the freshest cup of joe.

To do this, unplug the pot and fill up with vinegar and water (half and half on each) and allow it to brew until it is half full. Next, turn it off and let it sit for 30 minutes. You can empty the pot and fill it again, this time with clean water.

Eyeglasses

To prevent staining and get rid of smudges, your eyeglass should be wiped clean. For this, rinse your glasses under a steady stream of warm water before washing them thoroughly with mild dish soap. Dry them with a clean towel that’s soft enough to not damage the lenses. A microfiber cloth will also do nicely.

Toaster

Regular cleaning prevents a toaster from becoming a fire hazard. Simply unplug your toaster first before removing the crumb tray and washing that with soapy water. Then, turn over your toaster and shake out or use a thin brush to remove any crumbs that may be stuck on the heating elements of your device.

Cell phone

Your phone does so much for you inside and out of the house, but cleaning it requires delicate care and attention as to not tamper with parts such as the screen or ports.

A simpler and safer method is to use a 70% isopropyl spray solution on a microfiber cloth to wipe your screen and then a foam swab for cleaning out the more narrow areas of your phone from dirt and grime.

Toothbrush

At best, you should replace these every three to four months, but that doesn’t mean you can leave your toothbrushes unclean.

Cleaning a toothbrush can be pretty simple. All you need to do is to let it soak in antibacterial mouthwash overnight before rinsing in the morning. Also, make sure to never store it in a closed container as bacteria could easily build up.
